Freshness in the air

Spring always brings about the desire to declutter, clean, and make things feel fresh again for me. Wash away the depression that winter always brings! So since our roof/ceilings inside were repaired recently from water leaking in, we took advantage of having moved out all the furniture for the painter, and we painted the walls. Ahhh.

This house has gone through so many changes since we moved into it. The floors have been 3 different types. The walls have now been 3 different colors. And the furniture has been rearranged 3 times to fit different pieces. It's been mixed and matched and just made do with, and now it finally feels like it all fits together.

I still miss my beautiful blue sofa and arm chair, which we had to trash when James broke (both!) and had a twin mattress in the living room for a while. Remember that?! Now we have nice leather arm chairs and a sofa (needs to be reupholstered.)

I have yet to finish the hallway however. Ran out of paint, had to get another gallon, then it's been one thing after another, one sickness after another, and a few raisens up the nose to keep us entertained. But that's our life. And how can life be miserable, finished projects or not, when the view looks like this out my window today?

Nice! You look out my window and you see snow! So irritating, you are so lucky to have the spring weather already!

That view is absolutely delightful! Did you just get sick of the other floors and that's why you changed them 3 times? So what kindya got now?

Debbie, the first floors were the (fake) hardwoods that James ripped out when I was pregnant with Max. We have a small house, a baby to be moving on the floor, so I wanted carpet. 3 months or so after James put that in, my house flooded from the bathroom sink, and the wood furniture stained the new carpet, so it got replaced again.
