If you give a James a hammer...
(inspired by the book "If you give a pig a pancake" wherein said pig gets a pancake, then thinks of syrup, and continues to think of things that semi-relate until it comes full circle back to the pancake.)
If you give a James a hammer...
he will tinker a while with it thinking of all the many projects that he needs to get done in a house he is seldom inside of.
So he sits for a bit thinking of what to do with this new feeling of being able to catch up on life. He's sitting. On the couch. Oh, a remote is nearby. Click! Now he is watching Spongebob.
For 4 hours.
He finally remembers the hammer goes out in the garage. While out there he sees the attatchments to his lawnmower. Oh, the grass needs to be cut. Out he goes.
When he comes back in, after 3 hours of lawnmowing-turned-into-edging/clipping/spider spraying/garden harvesting/roof repair/ride with kids, and dog play time... he now has a longer list of things to do around the property, all of which I know full well won't get accomplished anytime soon, so it's my job to redirect his attention until he's distracted and forgets for a while.
But I"m thankful he finally realized there was a bee in his bonnet...er...baseball hat. Because of his desire to work on the 'honey-do list' I finally have baseboards in my bathrooms that were torn off 9 months ago when I flooded my entire house.
To be continued with "If you give a girl new baseboards... they will need to be painted... and it will eventually lead to new sofa's somehow." I'm still working on that one.
